J Ephraimson Limited was started in Bradford in 1888 by our founder, Julius Ephraimson.

Bradford, close to the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, had a thriving textile trade and was a perfect location for this venture. At that time, when engineering and industry knew no bounds, the textile trade expanded rapidly throughout the world.

Thanks to the knowledge and innovations that Julius applied to the textile industry, our company was able to develop and perfect a unique manufacturing technique that has never been improved upon, even with the use of modern manufacturing methods.

We are celebrating over one hundred years in business thanks to ever expanding markets such as hobbies & crafts and the film and theatre industries.  However, the cornerstone of the company is still based on quality and service..

Since 1888 our business has gone from strength to strength and our International markets are constantly expanding.

When Julius started, his main customers were the traditional doll makers of Germany. The doll market has always been very popular, although nowadays specialist dolls sell for premium prices. Our markets now stretch much further afield, including Asia, where, unique, porcelain dolls are hand-crafted using J Ephraimson’s quality hair products.

Stage, films & theatre have always been major markets for our specialist hair styling materials. Over the years we have captured a large share of these markets and continue to supply significant quantities of our specialist materials.

Many of our hair fibre materials find their way into costumes for festivals, carnivals and parties with spectacular results thus providing entertainment and pleasure to thousands of people around the world.
